The 20 Conditions for success!!

The Bronze and Silver Expeditions are fast arriving.  Have you been on the eDofE site to look at the route planner available?  Have you planned your routes?  Link is on this page to the eDofE login.

For those of you doing the Expeditions, please try and get to the additional three meetings on Thursday evenings (15th, 22nd and 29th Sep) 8pm - 9.30pm at the hall.

 

Just as a reminder....these are the twenty conditions of the DofE Expedition to qualify :-

  1. Your expedition must be by your own physical effort, without any motorised or outside assistance. You are all walking - pass !
  2. Your expedition must be unaccompanied and self-sufficient. Neither John, I or Em will be helping you - pass !
  3. Your expeditions must be supervised by an adult who is able to accept responsibility for the safety of you and your team. Me - pass !
  4. Your expedition must have an aim. This is totally up to you as a group - it could be listing farm equipment, taking photos, wildlife you may see on the route, cloud formations.... absolutely anything at all, you just need to do a presentation on it when you have finished - pass !
  5. You must be properly equipped for your expedition. You will be - pass !
  6. You must have completed the required training and practise expeditions. You have already done most of this, but you will need to turn up on the Thursday night training sessions to tick this box - pass !
  7. You must undertake at least one practise expedition at each level of the programme.  You should do this in the same mode of travel and in a similar environment to the qualifying expedition. Pass !
  8. You and your team must plan and organise your expedition. You will be doing this - Pass!
  9. You must be assessed by an approved accredited Assessor to the DofE. Pass again !
  10. There must be between four and seven people in your team (eight people may be in a team for modes of travel which are tandem).* Pass !
  11. You must be within the qualifying age of the DofE programme level. Pass !
  12. All the people in your team must be at the same level of assessment.* Pass !
  13. Your team must not include anyone who has completed the same or higher level DofE expedition.* Pass !
  14. Your overnight accommodation should be camping. Pass !
  15. Your expedition must be the minimum number of days required for your DofE level. Pass !
  16. Your expedition should normally take place between the end of March and the end of October. Pass !
  17. Your expedition should be in the recommended environment for your DofE level. Pass !
  18. Your must do the minimum hours of planned daily activity for your DofE level. Up to you - easy one - Pass !
  19. You should cook and eat a substantial meal each day. Again, up to you but should be a Pass !
  20. You must create and deliver a presentation after your expedition to complete the section. Already in the planner - Pass !
